Our Story

The Full Story

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu started out as a way to save my sanity, and quickly grew into a family affair. Myself, my wife, and our kids are all involved with the sport now and it has became a passion. The community has blown us away with all of the support and just generally fantastic people that we have had the privilege to meet.

As practitioners and advocates of BJJ, we recognized a gap in opportunities for our young competitors to participate in competition in a consistent manner. Especially for those who are unable to travel for tournaments. With the rate at which the sport has been growing in popularity over recent years, change is needed and we decided to make it happen ourselves.

The Junior Grappling League (JGL) was born out of a commitment to helping not only grow the sport, but also help nurture the next generation of high level grapplers. We are relying on input from within the community to establish and evolve our organization in order to provide the most opportunity to the children. Of these opportunities, we will be holding seasons where competitors will have weekly matches, tournaments, seminars, and more.
